You will find more and more if you read my blog that I love music. Music has this amazing way of touching us to the core. I find myself lost in a great song often. Today was no exception with The Fray's new song 'You Found Me'. Not only can I totally relate to this song and pretty much every Fray song, but today at church the praise band played it. We went to Cedarcreek here in Toledo. It's a great church. Anywho..they did a great job with the song. Below are the words:
The Fray - You Found Me
I found God
On the corner of first and Amistad
Where the west was all but won
All alone, smoking his last cigarette
I Said where you been, he said ask anything
Where were you?
When everything was falling apart
All my days were spent by the telephone
It never rang
And all I needed was a call
That never came
To the corner of first and Amistad
Lost and insecure
You found me, you found me
Lying on the floor
Surrounded, surrounded
Why’d you have to wait?
Where were you?
Where were you?
Just a little late
You found me, you found me
In the end everyone ends up alone
Losing her, the only one who’s ever known
Who I am, who I’m not, who I want to be
No way to know how long she will be next to me
Lost and insecure
You found me, you found me
Lying on the floor
Surrounded, surrounded
Why’d you have to wait?
Where were you, where were you?
Just a little late You found me, you found me
Early morning, City breaks
I’ve been calling for years and years and years and years
And you never left me no messages
You never send me no letters
You got some kind of nerve, taking all I want
Lost and insecure
You found me, you found me
Lying on the floor
Where were you where were you
Lost and insecure
You found me, you found me
Lying on the floor
Surrounded, surrounded
Why’d you have to wait?
Where were you, where were you?
Just a little late
You found me, you found me
Why’d you have to wait?
To find me, to find me
I started thinking how often deep down do we get frustrated with God. We feel like we constantly are waiting on His will. We feel lost, insecure, alone and our prayers ignored. We are broken creatures waiting for our Father to pick us up off the floor and make us whole again. But Our Father in His amazing wisdom has the perfect timing. He teaches us through our brokenness. He teaches us how to depend, trust, and love Him. Depend on His guidance, Trust that He has our best interest at heart, and Love like He loves us. Through my broken lost moments my Father has taught me what true love is. And true love can only be found and learned when we depend on Him. When the enemy had me lost and insecure my Father found me. What a great and amazing hope we have in Him. He Found Me...and it doesn't matter if I have moments of feeling alone because He'll always be there to cradle me in His arms and wipe my tears away. Thank you Father for finding value in the broken mess. :-)
